Refund and Return Policy

At Tocnews, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Refund and Return Policy outlines the conditions under which you may return products and request refunds.

1. Return Eligibility

You may return most items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. To be eligible for a return:

  • Books must be in their original, unopened condition
  • Items must be undamaged and unused
  • Original packaging must be intact
  • You must provide proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt)

1.1 Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned:

  • Opened or used books (unless defective)
  • Books with damaged or removed protective wrapping
  • Personalized or custom-ordered items
  • Digital products or e-books
  • Items marked as final sale or clearance

2. Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will arrange for a replacement or full refund, including return shipping costs. Please provide:

  • Order number
  • Description of the damage or defect
  • Photos of the damaged item and packaging

3. How to Initiate a Return

4. Return Shipping

For standard returns (change of mind, unwanted items), you are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was damaged or defective.

4.2 Damaged or Defective Returns

For damaged or defective items, we will provide a prepaid shipping label or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.

4.3 Shipping Recommendations

We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance for valuable items. We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.

5. Refund Processing

5.1 Inspection and Approval

Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, your refund will be processed within 5-7 business days.

5.2 Refund Method

Refunds will be issued to your original payment method. Depending on your financial institution, it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account.

5.3 Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be granted in cases where:

  • Items show signs of use or wear
  • Items are returned more than 30 days after delivery
  • Items are missing components or accessories
  • Packaging is significantly damaged

6. Exchanges

We offer exchanges for defective or damaged items only. If you wish to exchange an item for the same product, please contact customer service. For exchanges involving different items, you must return the original item for a refund and place a new order.

7. Lost or Stolen Packages

We are not responsible for packages lost or stolen after successful delivery to your provided address. If tracking information shows successful delivery but you did not receive your package:

  • Check with neighbors or household members
  • Verify the delivery address on your order confirmation
  • Contact the shipping carrier
  • File a police report if you suspect theft

We will work with you to investigate the issue, but refunds or replacements are issued at our discretion.

8. Order Cancellations

8.1 Before Shipment

You may cancel your order before it ships by contacting us immediately. If your order has not yet been processed, we will cancel it and issue a full refund.

8.2 After Shipment

Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled. You must receive the item and follow our return procedures for a refund.

9. Refund Timeline

The complete refund process typically takes 2-3 weeks, including:

  • Transit time for your return to reach us (varies)
  • Processing time once we receive your return (5-7 business days)
  • Time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund (5-10 business days)

10. Consumer Rights (Germany)

As a consumer in Germany, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason, in accordance with German consumer protection laws (Widerrufsrecht). This applies to distance contracts under the German Civil Code (BGB).

To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw by a clear statement. You must return the goods within 14 days of notifying us. We will reimburse all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.
